Bothy Distillery

Bothy Distillery is a new Scottish whisky distillery in Glen Prosen, Angus, set among the spectacular Angus Glens on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park. Founded by the team behind Gin Bothy, the distillery began producing its own Highland Single Malt Whisky in 2026.

Located on a historic whisky-smuggling route, Bothy Distillery combines the area's rich whisky heritage with a modern approach to distilling and sustainability. Visitors can explore the distillery, discover the story of Glen Prosen and enjoy guided tastings of its spirits.

About Bothy Distillery

Bothy Distillery is the home of Glen Prosen Highland Single Malt Whisky, with production beginning in July 2026. The distillery uses locally grown barley and carefully selected casks to create a whisky that reflects its Highland surroundings. The distillery is part of the wider Bothy story, which began with Gin Bothy before expanding into a range of Scottish spirits. Its Glen Prosen site brings whisky production back to an area with a long history of illicit distilling and whisky smuggling.

While the new whisky begins its journey in cask, visitors can discover Bothy's existing range of spirits and learn more about the distillery's plans for the future.
