GlenDronach Distillery
Deep in the East Highland hills of Aberdeenshire, near Huntly, GlenDronach Distillery has been producing richly sherried single malt whisky since 1826.
Set in the historic Valley of Forgue, the distillery is known for its traditional approach to whisky making and maturation in Spanish sherry casks.
About GlenDronach Distillery
Founded in 1826 on the Boynsmill Estate, GlenDronach is one of Scotland's oldest working distilleries. The historic Boynsmill House, dating from 1771 and later renamed Glen House, still stands at the heart of the site.
The name GlenDronach means ‘Valley of the Brambles’ and reflects the natural surroundings of the distillery. For almost 200 years, the distillery has been associated with richly sherried Highland single malt, with Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks playing an important role in its distinctive character.
2026 marks GlenDronach's 200th anniversary, with a special programme of experiences and releases planned to celebrate two centuries of whisky making.

GlenDronach welcomes visitors throughout the year with a choice of whisky experiences ranging from an introductory distillery tour and tasting to more in-depth explorations of its sherry cask maturation. Experiences include a tour of the production areas and a visit to one of the distillery's traditional warehouses.

Embark on an indepth experience that takes you through the distinguished custodians, challenging setbacks and many triumphs The Glendronach has seen in its 200 year history. Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival, followed by a production walk-through to witness time-honoured traditions and craftsmanship. Finally, savour a guided tasting from the Old and Rare Collection, before enjoying a light lunch in our lounge.
