Glengyle Distillery

Glengyle Distillery is located in Campbeltown on Scotland’s west coast and represents one of the most significant modern whisky revivals. Reopened in 2004 after more than 70 years of closure, it produces Kilkerran single malt whisky and has helped restore Campbeltown’s reputation as a historic whisky region.

All parts of the whisky production process take place on site, from the traditional floor maltings conducted at sister distillery, Springbank, to the bottling of every edition at the bottling hall in Campbeltown.

About Glengyle Distillery

Originally founded in 1872, Glengyle operated for several decades before closing in 1925. The distillery was revived by the owners of J&A Mitchell, the company behind Springbank Distillery, with production restarting in 2004.

Glengyle produces Kilkerran single malt, using traditional methods including long fermentation, direct-fired stills, and careful maturation. Its revival forms part of Campbeltown’s return as one of Scotland’s recognised whisky regions.
