Conveniently located close to St Andrews, the home of golf, in the beautiful East Neuk of Fife, Kingsbarns Distillery sits in a charming 18th century converted farm steading and features whisky distillery tours, tastings, a shop and cafe with an outdoor seating area.



From Dream to Dram. At Kingsbarns Distillery, we take Fife grown barley and water from an aquifer 100m below the distillery and through our process of milling, mashing, fermentation and distilling to fill our casks with our fruity and floral spirit.

We are located 6 miles from St Andrews and 3 miles from Crail on the A917, just outside the village of Kingsbarns on the Cambo Estate.  Bus number 95 stops at the road end entrance - ask for the Cambo Lodge bus stop (not Kingsbarns Village).

Opening Times:

  • Mon-Sun 9.30am-5pm

Pets and animals are prohibited inside the Visitor Centre and Distillery with the exception of guide dogs and hearing dogs. Supervised pets are allowed on cafe terrace area.

KINGSBARNS DISTILLERY TOUR £25

This tour is the perfect introduction to Scotch Whisky. Our experienced tour guides will take you into our exhibition space to share the history of our distillery and the area, before showing you how we craft our single malt whisky using local ingredients, including a tour round the production area. Afterwards you'll be taken to our tasting room where you will sample three of our single malt whiskies.

DREAM TO DRAM TOUR £64

Explore our distillery, learning all about the Scotch whisky industry, and what makes Kingsbarns single malt unique, before heading up to the tasting room for a tutored tasting of five incredible whiskies. The tour lasts around 1.5 - 2 hours. We recommend arranging transport back home!

THE 19TH HOLE TOUR £36

This tour is the perfect introduction to Scotch whisky after a day enjoying some of Fife's other delights. Your distillery highlights tour will take your through our exhibition and distillery, before enjoying a selection of three drams either in the café or one of our tasting rooms.

WEMYSS BLENDING EXPERIENCE £52

Engage in the art of Scotch whisky blending: this workshop allows you to create a bespoke whisky blend using specially selected single malts, emulating our own blender, Isabella Wemyss’ techniques. You will gain insight into how we craft our signature blends, such as The Hive, Spice King, and Peat Chimney. You will then blend your own whisky and take home a miniature bottle of your creation.

DARNLEY'S GIN TOUR £22

Join us at Darnley’s distillery and discover more about Darnley’s Gin, as our tour guide takes you on a journey through the local area and the rich history of gin. Discover which botanicals we grow and use, and then step into our still room to find out how we make Darnley’s Gin. The tour is accompanied by a tasting of three, nature-distilled, Darnley’s London Dry Gins.

GINSPIRATION TOUR £33

Gather round our tasting table and learn all about Darnley’s Distillery. A hands-on tasting experience which will allow you to experiment and enjoy the Darnley’s range, to suit your own taste. You will sample our core range of nature-distilled, Darnley’s London Dry Gins and a limited-edition gin, before selecting your favourite for working up into your own perfect serve.

Cafe & Terrace: Our cafe and terrace is a lovely place to relax and enjoy locally sourced soup, sandwiches and cakes. As well as tea, coffee and soft drinks, we serve local beer and, of course, a range of gin, whisky and wine by the glass. So if you don't have time for a tour, ask about trying a Flight of whiskies in our cafe.
