Distillery Of The Month: Ardnahoe
Ardnahoe Distillery
When Stewart Laing and his sons Andrew and Scott formed Hunter Laing & Co. Ltd in 2013, they knew it was finally time to realise their ambition of making their own whisky. With a strong affinity for Islay and a reverence for its distinctive, peated malt whiskies, there was no doubt that the fabled Whisky Isle had to be the site for their own distillery. In 2015 they located the perfect four-acre site by Loch Ardnahoe on the north-east of the island, with access to the deep loch waters, and first runs of distillation began in October 2018.
The team at Ardnahoe share many things: passion, knowledge and a heartfelt desire to share the creation of this new and exciting distillery. Whether you are taking a tour of our distillery, tasting our fine range of whiskies, sampling the local produce in our restaurant or visiting the well-stocked shop, our team are guaranteed to make your visit a memorable one.
We like the look of the Whisky & Cheese Pairing Session which offers an interesting take on pairing a spirit with food. The distillery has sourced a range of cheeses from Scottish cheese makers that complement their various whisky expressions - sounds like a delicious idea!

Malt of the Month: Glendronach 12-Year-Old & Glendronach Port Wood
For our Malt of the Month we learn more about Glendronach Distillery's 12-Year-Old and Port Wood Single Malts.
The 12-Year-Old is a superb richly sherried single malt which has been matured for at least 12 years in a combination of the finest Spanish Pedro Ximinez and Oloroso Sherry Casks. You can find out more about this delicious whisky as well as the Glendronach Port Wood over at the website.
