June's Perfect Serve - The New Fashioned

The Perfect Serve will titillate your tastebuds with a delicious whisky cocktail featured every month...

To mark the reawakening of Rosebank Distillery this month they have supplied our Perfect Serve... The New Fashioned uses the distillery's New Make Spirit and is a real summer time treat.

The cocktail was created by one of the distillery's Whisky Brand Ambassadors, Michael Brown, who says: "The New Fashioned is a take on an Old Fashioned, using the New Make Spirit of Rosebank.

"It showcases the flavour profile of the spirit with ingredients that feature orange and plum bitters, balanced out with a simple sugar syrup. Garnished with a rose petal, it provides a floral touch to the nose, making it visually striking against the elegant clear cocktail."

Ingredients

• 40ml Rosebank New Make Spirit
• 2 dashes of plum bitters
• 2 dashes of orange bitters
• Half a shot of sugar syrup

Method

• Pour 40ml of new make spirit, the bitters and sugar syrup into a mixing glass.
• Stir for 60 seconds.
• Strain into a chilled old fashioned glass over a large block of ice.
• Garnish with dehydrated rose petals.
