Archie tells us more about the history of Luvians and its journey from Fife ice cream parlour to award-winning bottle shop, with the St Andrews branch stocking more than 300 different whiskies and the ‘mothership’ Cupar branch, custodians of over 1000 varieties of whisky…

THE WHISKY

Over the years we've had to do things a little differently to our competitors in order not only to survive the vast competition of the whisky world but to set ourselves apart as the best at what we do. We do this in many ways but, distilled to its base, this come down to two things: seeking out a team whose knowledge and love of whisky is second to none and sourcing products with flawless provenance.

That means we only buy whisky directly from distilleries and their official distributors, so that we, and you, can be sure of their authenticity. We have over 800 single malt whiskies on our shelves, and will be happy to talk you through the drams that interest you, usually having one or two bottles open for tasting! We hold regular formal tastings, too, with food pairings and guest appearances from the distilleries. Drop in to chat about everything whisky, from session drams to rare bottles from silent distilleries…

We also offer an incredible selection of fine wines as well as private bottlings, cellar consultation, a great collection of spirits including over 100 gins, craft beers, Cuban cigars, glass hire, artisan ice cream made on site, a delicatessen and catering for weddings and large events.
