The Glasshouse Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Edinburgh city centre, nestled between Old Town and New Town. We are a short walk from both Edinburgh Waverley Train Station, and the Picardy Place tram stop, which offers a direct route to Edinburgh Airport.

Edinburgh Waverley Train Station: Edinburgh’s main rail station, and one of the UK’s most beautiful stations, linking Edinburgh to the rest of the United Kingdom. The station is located right in the heart of the city, and just a few minutes’ walk from The Glasshouse.

Tram: Edinburgh trams offer a direct link from Edinburgh Airport to Newhaven, stopping at Picardy Place, which is conveniently located opposite the hotel. The journey last approximately 40 minutes, and costs £6. The Tram also creates a stress-free option for sports lovers to Murrayfield.

Bus: Lothian Buses operate many routes around Edinburgh, the hop on hop off service is the most cost-effective way for visitors to see Edinburgh, with most journeys from £1.70, or unlimited full-day travel for just £4.

In 2023, The Glasshouse celebrated its 20th Anniversary. To mark this occasion, we curated our very own YTL tartan, partnering with Gordon Nicholson Kilt Makers. Combining the national colours of red and blue, we intertwined the Malaysian heritage of YTL with a traditional Scottish pattern. Following on from the success of the tartan, we have since designed and launched a range of retail items such as scarves, rose pins, and Whisky hipflasks with glassware allowing guests to take a piece of Scotland home with them.
