Cask Explorers since 1897

Glen Moray has built its reputation on a long tradition of innovation, particularly in cask maturation, while maintaining a classic Speyside spirit character.

About Glen Moray Distillery

Founded in 1897, Glen Moray is one of Speyside’s long-established distilleries and continues to operate as a working production site. The whisky is typically light, fruity, and easy-drinking in style, shaped by traditional copper pot stills and a long-standing commitment to experimentation with different cask types.

The distillery is particularly known for its 'Cask Explorer philosophy, which sees spirit matured in a wide variety of barrels including bourbon, sherry, wine, and more unusual finishes. This approach has helped Glen Moray develop a diverse and accessible range of whiskies while retaining a consistent house style.

Situated beside the River Lossie on the western edge of Elgin, the site blends historic roots with a modern visitor experience, offering insight into both production and maturation in a compact, easy-to-navigate setting.
