Some say there’s nothing new in Scotch Whisky. Borders say, think again. After opening their doors in 2018, The Borders Distillery have finally launched their first drop of Whisky; Borders Malt & Rye. As the first Blend to leave the region in 185 years, Borders had plenty of time to consider what they wanted this Whisky to say.
Formed as part of the Workshop Series, Borders Malt & Rye is the first release in an annual collection of experimental Whiskies from the distillery. Each Whisky will reveal a new side to Borders distilling style, eventually taking us to the launch of the Single Malt.
Workshop Series is about having fun with your whisky, and being curious to the variety of ways in which our national drink can be enjoyed.
Borders Malt & Rye serves up a friendly and aromatic Whisky as is, blending together the orchard fruits of their malted spirit with soft spices of rye grain. However, if you’re looking for a bubbly and fresh twist on a Whisky serve, Borders Julep Dupe is one to try.
Ingredients
- 50ml Borders Malt & Rye
- Fill halfway with lemonade
- Top up with ginger beer
- Garnish with fresh mint
In a highball glass filled with ice, pour over all ingredients. Sip, savour, enjoy!
