Address:

Northfield, Annan DG12 5LL

This distillery is included as part of our Dumfries, Galloway & The Borders Tour.

Annandale Distillery has a large and spacious car park with an area of unmarked bays, meaning there is plenty of space to park with a camper when visiting. There is a 'driver’s dram' offering for those who can’t take part in the tasting due to the alcohol restrictions for drivers. There is a camping and caravan site just half a mile along the road from us, in the town of Annan. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk along the public footpath and down the distillery entrance.

Opening Times:

  • Jan-Dec Mon-Sun 10am–5pm

Everywhere is dog friendly apart for the tour itself this is due to it going through food preparation areas. The coffee shop is also dog friendly.

Podcasts:

In our May 2023 podcast we spoke to James Cosmo - actor, producer and proud whisky connoisseur with Annandale Distillery.

James discussed how he went from Clydebank to Hollywood to star in over 150 films including Scottish classics Trainspotting and Braveheart and of course we also heard more about his role in the phenomenally successful Game Of Thrones TV series.

We also heard all about the whisky James has produced with Annandale Distillery and how a call from his agent on New Year’s Day to Annandale’s David Ashton-Hyde led to him working with the distillery to create the delicious Storyman Whisky.

Listen to the DistilleryTours interview with David Thomson, owner of the Annandale Distillery, in our May 2020 podcast.

David tells us how he worked with Dr Jim Swan on the refurbishment, using sensory profiles to design Annandale’s whisky and its plant. And he also has an unusual tale of how they found their water source.
