Distillery Of The Month: Glenkinchie Distillery

Just 15 miles from the capital, Glenkinchie is the Edinburgh Malt. Pay the distillery a visit in its breathtaking setting and discover the generous spirit of Glenkinchie’s garden home where the rare Lowland-style whisky is created, evoking fragrant flowers, dried cut grass, and nutty cereal.

Glenkinchie proudly serves as one of the Four Corners of Scotland distilleries of Johnnie Walker, representing the Lowland home of this iconic blend. Here, craftspeople distil the Edinburgh Malt that is enjoyed around the world on its own and as a vital component of Johnnie Walker whiskies.

Experience Glenkinchie distillery for yourself with an immersive experience which will bring you face-to-face with the traditional production methods as well as the revered malt itself.

Throughout July, indulge in the exquisite pairing of whisky and ice cream at Glenkinchie. A specially curated collection of four malt whiskies has been thoughtfully matched with locally produced ice cream from Love Ice Cream.

These very special tastings will be held in the distillery's stunning tasting room, perfectly timed for the sweet spot straight after lunch.

Venue of the Month: Angus Alchemy

Angus Alchemy takes innovation into outstretched arms and gives it a big, sweaty, end-of-the-night embrace. Maybe for just a wee bit longer than is comfortable! Its owners say: "We took a risk and built a distillery on our own terms featuring cutting-edge design, operations… and, of course, high-quality spirits. In return, we’re able to use words like ‘cutting-edge’ and ‘high-quality’ like some kind of Silicon valley wunderkind giving a keynote."

At Angus Alchemy you will find a down-to-earth brand of progressiveness where the focus is on making world-class gin, rum, moonshine and offering up an unforgettable visitor experience. When it comes to tasting experiences, this is where things really open up at Angus Alchemy. With more spirits than an exorcist’s ‘to do’ list, every visit is as unique as the stuff that lines the bar.

We like the sound of The Albannach. This tasting package takes in the big picture of our wee country’s whisky scene. You’ll go from the Lowlands to the Highlands, from the East to the West and even the islands off the coast.

Tour of the Month: Clydeside Whisky Creator Tour

Set on the banks of the historic River Clyde, Glasgow's Clydeside Distillery offers one of the most atmospheric whisky experiences in Scotland.

Their Whisky Creator Tour invites whisky-lovers to step into the world of whisky making in a truly immersive and memorable way. Here, you’ll be guided through a tasting of four exceptional single casks of Clydeside single malt, each carefully selected from the distillery’s warehouse. These cask-strength whiskies showcase different characteristics and flavour profiles, giving you a true sense of the distillery’s range and complexity.

Then it’s your turn to become the blender. Using your preferred balance of the four whiskies, you’ll craft your own unique expression of Clydeside single malt - beautifully packaged in a 200ml bottle to take home.
