Distillery and Whisky News October 2025 - Glenglassaugh

Hello whisky lovers, and welcome to our October edition of Distillery and Whisky News.

Hello whisky lovers, and welcome to the October edition of Distillery and Whisky News.

As the nights draw in and the air takes on that unmistakable autumn chill, there’s no better time to slow down, savour the season and raise a glass to the comforts of October. This month, our Perfect Serve is the Holyrood Toddy Sour – a soothing twist on the classic hot toddy, elevated with the sweet, biscuity character of Holyrood Distillery’s Ambir.

And for those inspired by the drama of the recent Ryder Cup, our Tour of the Month comes from Kingsbarns, where the 19th Hole Tour blends a love of golf with the perfect post-round whisky experience.

Whether you’re warming up with a toddy or teeing off with a tour, October really is the perfect time to savour whisky at its very best.

Until next time...

Distillery Of The Month: Glenglassaugh Distillery

At the east end of the breathtaking Sandend Bay lies Glenglassaugh Distillery, a place where land and sea meet and whisky has been handcrafted for a century and a half. The rolling hills and forests fall towards the coast, framing a setting that has inspired generations.

While many distilleries have embraced automation, Glenglassaugh has stayed true to tradition. Every stage of the process, from the use of the finest Scottish barley to the careful selection of casks, is overseen by a small, dedicated team whose craft ensures the spirit retains its distinctive coastal character. Slowly matured in seaside warehouses, each whisky reflects both place and patience.

This year marks 150 years of Glenglassaugh. To honour the occasion, the distillery is offering an exclusive tasting experience. Guests will savour four extraordinary whiskies with a combined maturation of 150 years - a journey through time, flavour, and craftsmanship that showcases the very best of the distillery’s legacy.

Tour of the Month: Kingsbarns 19th Hole Tour

If the buzz of the Ryder Cup has left you keen to get back on the fairway, there are few better places to do it than the stunning Fife coast. Home to world-class courses and equally impressive distilleries, it is the perfect destination to combine a round of golf with a dram or two.

This month, Kingsbarns Distillery is in the spotlight as it celebrates a landmark release - its first ever age statement single malt, the Kingsbarns 10 Year Old. Matured for a decade near St Andrews, this limited edition is a milestone moment and a whisky worth celebrating.

And what better way to mark the occasion than with the 19th Hole Tour? Designed with golfers in mind, it’s the ideal way to unwind after a morning on the greens. The experience begins with a guided tour through the exhibition and distillery, before moving on to the best part - a tasting of three generous drams, enjoyed in the atmospheric tasting room.

Whether you nailed a hole-in-one or found yourself in the rough, the 19th Hole Tour is the perfect way to round off your day on the Fife coast.
